Brains for Brains Awardees 2010
In 2010, the Bernstein Computational Neuroscience Association confers for the first time three "Brains for Brains Young Researchers' Computational Neuroscience Awards".
This years' awardees are: Ritvik Kumar Niyogi (India, curr. Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit, UK), Costas Lagogiannis (Greece, curr. University of Southampton, UK) and Martinez Cancino (Cuba, Cuban National Bioinformatics Center).
Besides a 500 Euro cash prize money, the award is equipped with a travel grant of up to 1.500 Euro covering a one-week trip to Germany and individually planned visits to up to three German research institions in Computational Neuroscience.

DGPA “Young Scientist Award” 2010:
Dr. Paul Sauseng (University of Salzburg)
During June 10- 12, 2010 several hundred scientists once again attended the annual meeting of the German Society for Applied Psychophysiology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychophysiologie und ihre Anwendung; DGPA), which this year was held at the University of Greifswald (Germany). Also as in previous years, the DGPA awarded prizes – one of them sponsored by Brain Products – to young scientists who had presented outstanding papers or posters.

Brain Vision Prize for "Best Doctoral Presentation":

In the context of this years "18ième Journée scientifique du CERNEC" held on March 11th/12th in Montreal, Etienne Vachon Presseau (University of Montréal, Centre de recherche, IUGM) received the award for "Best Doctoral Presentation". The presentation focused on "PERCEVOIR DE LA DOULEUR CHEZ AUTRUI MODULE L'EXCITABILITÉ SPINALE ET L'EXPÉRIENCE DE LA DOULEUR D'UN OBSERVATEUR" by E. Vachon-Presseau (Université de Montréal, Centre de recherche, IUGM, Université de Montréal), M.O. Martel (Université McGill), M. Roy (Université de Montréal, Centre de recherche, IUGM, Université de Montréal), E. Caron (Université de Montréal), P. Jackson (Université Laval), P. Rainville (Université de Montréal, Centre de recherche, IUGM, Université de Montréal).

DGPA “Young Scientist Award” 2009:

From June 11th - 13th, 2009, several hundred scientists again attended the annual meeting of the German Society for Applied Psychophysiology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychophysiologie und ihre Anwendung; DGPA) “Arbeitstagung Psychologie und Methodik” which, this year, was held at the University of Leipzig. And just as in previous years, the DGPA awarded prizes - one of which was spon-sored by Brain Products - to young scientists who presented outstanding papers or posters.

UCL “Young Investigator Award” 2008:
Benjamin Judkewitz (Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research, UCL)
On December 4th 2008, Professor Louis Lemieux (Chair of UCL’s Centre for Neuroimaging Techniques, UCL-CNT) presented the second Annual UCL-CNT Young Investigator in Neuroimaging Award. The winner, Mr Benjamin Judkewitz, received a cheque for £500 as well as a trophy and a certificate signed by Professor Malcolm Grant, Provost of UCL (University College London). This award is proudly sponsored by Brain Products.
